26 oz bag frozen country-style hash browns
2 cups shredded Colby cheese (may use Cheddar, but Colby is better)
1/4 cup minced onion
1 cup milk
1/2 cup beef broth
2 Tbsp butter, melted, divided
Dash garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Combine frozen hash browns, cheese, and onion in a large bowl. Microwave until the potatoes are hot and the cheese has melted.
Combine the milk, beef stock, half the melted butter, the garlic powder, salt and pepper in another bowl. Mix until well blended, then pour the mixture over the hash browns and mix well.
Pre-heat baking dish (I used 13x9) with remaining butter until butter is melted. Spoon in the hash brown mixture. Bake for 45-60 minutes or til the surface is dark brown.
